Summary: Biographical information; correspondence; artist files; writings including drafts of published books on Ellsworth Kelly (1958) and Herbert Ferber (1981); drafts of an article on Georgia O'Keeffe for Vogue Magazine (1967); an unpublished typescript, "Collected Essays," which includes Goossen's writings (1956-1966) on various painters and sculptors; and a draft of a chapter contributed in 1985 to a publication entitled "Tyler Graphics: The Extended Image" (Walker Art Center, 1987), covering the prints of Frankenthaler, Nancy Graves, and Joan Mitchell; printed material and exhibition files including including The Art of the Real exhibit (MoMA, 1968), Helen Frankenthaler (Whitney, 1969), Ellsworth Kelly exhibits (MoMA, 1972-73); and three Bennington College exhibitions: Paul Feeley (1970), 8 Young Artists (1964), and Doug Ohlson at Bennington, 1962-1982; as well as a floor plan (1968) for "Art of the Real" exhibit; audio recordings; photographs; and miscellany.

Art historian, critic, educator; New York, N.Y.; d. 1997. Goossen was Professor of art history at Bennington College (1958-1961) and at Hunter College of the City University of New York (1961-1991).
