Thursday, Sept 7, 1882 Weir and his wife and the two children came by the down train. I met them at the ferry. They came from a visit to Mary Gifford. Mr. Henry R. Goetchins, Miss Sarah Goetchins & Mrs. Goetchins came by day boat from Newburgh. The two ladies returned by the evening boat but Mr. Goetchins who is from Columbus Geo. and is on his way home remained. He had an interesting genealogical tree of his family which was very well studied out.
