Collection Summary: Biographical information, correspondence, photographs, interviews, legal records, printed material and miscellany relating to the career of jewelry designer Mary Ann Scherr. Biographical material includes resumes and patents. Correspondence concerns Scherr's design projects, jewelry, illustrations, awards, exhibitions, commissions and other topics. Photographs are of Scherr, her family, and works of art. Also included are typescripts of interviews and a DVD recorded interview of Scherr for the North Carolina Governor's Award, 2005. Printed material includes exhibition catalogs, announcements and magazine and newspaper clippings. Also included is a deck of cards created by the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources,"Discover Craft NC: Knowledge Cards", featuring photogaphs of works of art by North Carolina artists.
