  • Julia Santos-Solomon papers, 1977-2002
    Addition size:  0.4 linear ft.
    Addition Summary:  notebooks, writings, sketches, correspondence (paper and electronic).  Including letters from Alice Dye, wife of Pete Dye, notable golf course architect and files concerning commissions and promotion of golf course landscape paintings, prints, and textiles.
    Biographical/Historical Note: Julia Santos Solomon (b. 1956) is a teacher, painter, and textile and fashion designer in the Dominican Republic and Woodstock, New York. Julia Santos-Solomon taught fashion and design illustration at Altos de Chavon School of Design in the Dominican Republic and at Parsons School of Design in New York.
  • Henry Pearson papers, 1937-1987
    Addition size: 0.1 linear ft.
    Addition Summary:  Military records; correspondence with galleries and museums, particularly the Marilyn Pearl Gallery; exhibition announcements and other printed material; an album of Pearson's travel photos and assorted loose photographs of Pearson at events or with friends; and a sketchbook. 
    Biographical/Historical Note: Henry Charles Pearson (1914-2006), painter and educator; New York City and Kingston, North Carolina. Studied University of North Carolina and Yale. Preferred media are oil and watercolor. d. 2006.
    Addition donated 2016 by Helene Shuter, Henry Pearson's daughter.
  • William Clutz papers, 1950-2015
    Addition size: 0.25 linear feet
    Addition Summary: papers, circa 1940-2015, including gallery files, including contracts and sales records; museum files; clippings of reviews; photographs of works of art including color snapshots, transparencies, and print outs of digital images; and sketches and drawings.
    Biographical/Historical Note: William Clutz (b. 1933) is a painter and art instructor in Rhinebeck, N.Y.  Clutz taught at the Parsons School of Design.
    Addition donated by William Clutz in 2016.
  • Eldzier Cortor papers 
    Addition size: 3 linear ft.
    Addition Summary:  papers circa 1990-2015, including a diary, address books, notebooks, and scrapbooks; letters regarding exhibitions and sales of works of art; source material, including jazz and African American music files, clippings, and images; photographs and slides of Cortor and his paintings. 
    Biographical/Historical Note: Eldzier Cortor (1916-2015) was a painter and printmaker in Chicago, Illinois and New York, New York.
    Addition donated in 2016 by Michal Cortor, Eldzier Cortor's son.

    Addition size: 6 linear ft.
    Collection Summary: papers, 1942-1999, including correspondence with the American Association of  Museums,  Expo Vienna, and other organizations; letters from Marc Chagall, Josef Albers, Carolos Merida, Robert Motherwell, and other artists; diaries, 1961-1988, written and edited by Messer (in electronic form). 
    Biographical/Historical Note: Thomas Messer served as director of the Roswell Museum, Roswell, NM, the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, MA, and at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York City.
    Addition donated in 2016 by the Thomas Messer Estate via Adam Lehner, executor.

    Biographical/Historical Note: Martin H. Bush (b.  1932) is an art historian, educator, consultant, and gallery dealer. Bush was vice president of Academic Resources, Wichita State University, and founder of the University's Ulrich Museum. Bush also served as president of the ACA galleries, N.Y.
