Monica Steinberg Joins Archives as a Pre-doctoral Fellow for 2013-14 Academic Year

The Archives of American Art announces the pre-doctoral fellowship appointment of Monica Steinberg for the 2013-14 academic year. Monica is a PhD Candidate in Art History at The Graduate Center of the City University of New York.

At the Archives of American Art, Steinberg will continue work on her dissertation, “Finish Fetish: Art, Artists, and Alter Egos in 1960s Los Angeles.” She will conduct extensive research in the collected papers and oral histories relating to Finish Fetish artists Larry Bell, Billy Al Bengston, Craig Kauffman, and Judy Chicago.

Monica has served as an Adjunct Professor at Hunter College, CUNY and contributed several exhibition catalogues including: “The Abstract Impulse” (2007), “The Commonist” (2012), and the Venice Biennale’s “Love Me, Love Me Not: Contemporary Art from Azerbaijan and its Neighbours” (2013).
