The Archives notes with sadness the passing on April 17th of A. Alfred Taubman, longtime supporter and Trustee Emeritus of the Archives of American Art. Taubman was an early champion of the Archives from its first years in Detroit. He later served on the Archives board from 1978 to 1987, holding the position of Vice President and then Chairman during that period. In 1987 he was elected Trustee Emeritus, in which role he continued to support the Archives until his death. The Archives extends its condolences to his family and many friends.
