Summary: Papers gathered by Titian R. Peale from the papers of his father Charles Willson Peale relating to the history of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Some of the papers were to be used by Theodore Cuyler for the opening address on the occasion of the dedication of the Academy's new building in 1876. Also included is a copy of a letter to Charles W. Peale from Benjamin West, June 21, 1771, mentioning Peale's recent arrival in Maryland and two recent paintings of West, HANNIBAL and DEATH OF WOLFE.
