Biographical/Historical Note
Sylvia Wald (1915-2011) was a sculptor and printmaker in New York City, New York. She worked as an art teacher with the Works Progress Administration and began to experiment with silkscreen techniques with oil paint. Later in her career, Wald worked in sculpture and assemblage. She exhibited her work in solo and group shows around the United States and with the Art in Embassies program through the U.S. Department of State.
