This record forms part of the Chicago’s Art-Related Archival Materials: A Terra Foundation Resource project funded by the Terra Foundation for American Art. For this project, the Archives surveyed archival repositories throughout the Chicago region to identify art-related materials contained in their holdings. While the Archives of American Art does not own any of the materials described herein, information about those materials and links to the original repositories have been included when available.

30 linear feet of material consisting of newsletters, correspondence, annual reports, photographs, negatives, slides from events, brochures, membership directories, organization constitutions, board minutes and work samples of the Women in Design [of Chicago] members.

Biographical Historical Note

Founded in 1978, Women In Design of Chicago was a nonprofit professional society which supports the interests of female designers, particularly in the Chicago area. The organization provided resources and references for its members, as well as holding annual meetings and events to showcase recent developments and members' works. There is a monthly newsletter indexed within the collection. Women in Design of Chicago became The Chicago Creative Coalition (C3) in 2000.
