South Side Community Art Center

The only extant community center founded under the auspices of the Federal Art Project, the South Side Community Art Center preserves, conserves, and promotes African American art and artists. Its archive records the institution's significant role in the history of African American artists in Chicago. An online finding aid is available through UNCAP (Uncovering Chicago Archives Project), developed and hosted by the University of Chicago Library.
