This record forms part of the Chicago’s Art-Related Archival Materials: A Terra Foundation Resource project funded by the Terra Foundation for American Art. For this project, the Archives surveyed archival repositories throughout the Chicago region to identify art-related materials contained in their holdings. While the Archives of American Art does not own any of the materials described herein, information about those materials and links to the original repositories have been included when available.

Descriptive Summary

6 boxes of material consisting of correspondence, teaching materials, biographical materials, administrative records, and materials pertaining to talks and lectures, relating to the career of William F. Conger. Administrative materials, teaching materials, files relating to DePaul University and letters of recommendation may be used only with the permission of the University Archivist.

Biographical Historical Note

Abstract painter William Conger has had many solo and group exhibitions, has placed works in significant public, corporate, and private collections, and has taught in college art programs for 40 years, including teaching at Northwestern from 1985 to 2006.
