Descriptive Summary

2 Hollinger boxes of material, including 2 folders of Edith L. Patterson’s correspondence regarding sale/donation of jewelry, furnishings, and works of art to the Chicago Historical Society and a newspaper obituary of Ernest Klempner, who painted the portrait of Patterson’s brother, Floyd L. Patterson, for Passavant Memorial Hospital.

Biographical Historical Note

Edith L. Patterson was a Chicago philanthropist. Ernest Klempner was an Austrian American artist who worked in Chicago in illustration, portrait painting, and printmaking.
