Palette and Chisel Club records
This record forms part of the Chicago’s Art-Related Archival Materials: A Terra Foundation Resource project funded by the Terra Foundation for American Art. For this project, the Archives surveyed archival repositories throughout the Chicago region to identify art-related materials contained in their holdings. While the Archives of American Art does not own any of the materials described herein, information about those materials and links to the original repositories have been included when available.
Descriptive Summary
Unprocessed. 3 linear feet (9 volumes) of material consisting of the records of the Palette and Chisel Club, including guest registers (1929–1939, 1940–1942) and scrapbooks containing photographs, clippings, and club publications. Readers must use the microfilm copy of these materials. Access to the collection requires the permission of the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts, which still owns it. The collection includes items not found in the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts Archive, c. 1895–present, at the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts.
