Two items relating to Alexander Wilson, including one signed letter by Wilson to Charles Willson Peale, dated May 25, 1802, with a list of birds of Great Britain not in Peale’s collection “desirable to have Mr. James bring over with him.”

Biographical Historical Note

Alexander Wilson was a Scottish-American poet, ornithologist, naturalist, and illustrator. Charles Willson Peale was an American painter, soldier, scientist, inventor, politician, and naturalist.
