Descriptive Summary

One scrapbook (1893–1908) of newspaper clippings, photographs, and memorabilia documenting Caroline D. Wade’s career as a marine and portrait painter, and one sketchbook (1904) containing sketches with notes on color.

Biographical Historical Note

Caroline D. Wade was a Chicago landscape, marine, and figure painter who was also an instructor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
