Biographical/Historical Note

Stephen Antonakos (1926-2013) was a sculptor from New York, New York. Antonakos specialized in incorporating neon into his works. He also created Package Projects that consisted of sending wrapped packages to friends and colleagues that were not to be opened or were to be opened at a specified time.

Provenance

The collection was donated in 1975 and 1981 by Stephen Antonakos, and in 2014 by Naomi Spector Antonakos.
