Biographical/Historical Note
Robert Doty (1933-1993) was an arts administrator and curator in New Hampshire Doty was director of The Currier Gallery of Art, Manchester, N.H. (1977-1987); director and curator at the Akron Art Institute, Ohio (1974-1977); curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, N.Y. (1966-1974); assistant to the director at the Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, Conn. (1964-1965); assistant to the director at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery (1963-1964); and assistant director at the George Eastman House, Rochester, N.Y. (1956-1963).
