Series 3: Writing Project Files , circa 1950-2013
3.1 Linear feet
Boxes 5-8

The writing project files are a highlight of this collection and include articles and essays, books and catalogs, book summaries, lectures and conferences, and notes. Nearly every folder contains typescript manuscripts, some of which contain further annotations. Additionally, many files contain contracts and related correspondence. Several of Castleman's books about contemporary printmaking are extensively documented, such as Prints of the 20th Century (1976) and American Impressions (1985), as are many of the catalogs she produced to accompany Museum of Modern Art exhibitions, including Jasper Johns: A Print Retrospective (1987) and The Prints of Andy Warhol (1990). Book summary files contain the original books as well as Castleman's notes. Assorted born-digital files are arranged toward the end of the series and contain a variety of writings, email correspondence, and email attachments.
Files are arranged into groupings by type, then chronologically.
