Diego Rivera, a renowned Mexican mural painter, was commissioned by Mrs. Samuel Strong in 1935 to paint a portrait of her friend, Kathleen Burke, of Cleveland, Ohio.
Donated 1999 by Mrs. Ruth Vincent, Mrs. Samuel E. Strong's former personal secretary.
