Writings consist of Evergood's artist statements and over 45 essays, lectures, and speeches that cover topics ranging from social justice and artist responsibilities to a survey of recent art history. In addition, the series includes eulogies of close friends, poetry, and miscellaneous notes and writings. There are also 6 broadcast radio recordings and other miscellaneous sound recordings featuring Philip Evergood from the 1930s and 1940s, and a lecture of Maxim Karolik's 1963 lecture "Collecting With a Purpose, For What?" Recordings are on sound discs and sound tape reels (1/4 inch).
