The collection documents Carter's childhood, sales of works of art, and her teaching, writings and exhibitions. Included are biographical material; professional correspondence related to her exhibitions; writings, including datebooks, notebooks and an unpublished manuscript "The Book," with 5 audio cassettes regarding research for the manuscript; teaching files from Pratt University where Carter taught; printed material regarding her exhibitions.
