4.1: Notebooks , circa 1930-1977

This subseries contains Milton Brown's notebooks, primarily from the period that he was in graduate school during the 1930s. Included are nine notebooks for specific art history courses he took while at NYU. Other notebooks found here include notes on art. Notebooks from 1959 and 1960 contain notes taken while Brown and his wife were traveling in Europe. Also found are three engagement calendars.
