Letters and signed documents are from William Holbrook Beard, Frederic Edwin Church, Samuel Colman, John Singleton Copley, Kenyon Cox, F.O.C. Darley, Daniel Chester French, Horatio Greenough, Chester Harding, Childe Hassam, Henry Inman, Samuel F. B. Morse, Erastus Dow Palmer, Rubens Peale, Henry Ossawa Tanner, Abbott Handerson Thayer, Stanford White, and Worthington Whittredge, among others.
