Series 2: Benny Andrews: The Visible Man (1996), 1991-2000

Original footage includes two interviews with Andrews, and interviews with curator Jane Farver, critic Bill Zimmer, art historian Michael Brenson, curator Deirdre Bibby, museum director Richard Gruber, and narration by Geoffrey Holder. A conversation between Andrews and Gruber in Andrews' studio is also found, as well as transcripts of all original footage. Series 3: Romare Bearden: Visual Jazz (1995), 1971-2000

Original footage includes an extended interview with Bearden's collaborator Robert Blackburn, as well as footage of Blackburn's printmaking studio. Additional interviews are found Nanette Bearden, curator Marilyn Kushner, Barrie Stavis, artist Andre Teabo, art historian Gail Gelburd, and program host and musician Wynton Marsalis. Transcripts are available for all original recorded content.
Production material includes footage of Bearden collected from other sources, including the documentary Bearden Plays Bearden, and Romare Bearden's Rituals of Women, as well as copies of historical photographs of Bearden from unknown sources, and slides of artwork. Research material, draft scripts, rough edits, and a final script are also found.
The finished documentary is found as both a long and short version.

Series 5: Elizabeth Catlett: Sculpting the Truth (1998), 1998-2000

Original footage includes multiple interviews with Elizabeth Catlett, including one with her husband, Francisco Mora, and another conducted by Faith Ringgold in her Cuernavaca, Mexico home and studio. Also found is footage of Catlett working in her studio in Mexico, and location footage of her home and city there. Original footage also includes documentation of Catlett's appearance at the Neuberger Museum of Art on the occasion of her 1998 retrospective exhibition there, including a conversation with curator Lowery Sims before a live audience. Transcripts of all unedited footage are also present.

Series 7: Robert Colescott: The One-Two Punch (1992), 1980-2005

Original footage includes two interviews with Robert Colescott, and location footage of Colescott in and around his Arizona home and studio. Location footage shot in New York City is also found, including Colescott artwork in the Phyllis Kind Gallery and street scenes. Additional interviews are with art critic Barry Schwabasky, art dealer Phyllis Kind, art historian Irving Sandler, art historian Robert Rosenblum, and curator Thelma Golden, who hosts the program. Transcripts for all original footage are present.
Production material includes an artist's statement by Colescott addressed to Freeman, draft scripts, notes, photographs of Colescott and his artwork and family, a rough edit and various pre-master recordings. The finished documentary is found in both a long and a short version.

Series 10: Red Grooms: Sculptopictoramatist (2008), 2008

Original footage includes an interview with Red Grooms, and footage of Grooms working in his New York studio. Additional interviews were shot at the Hudson River Museum during Grooms' 2008 exhibition and include museum director Thomas Hoving, curator Bartholomew Blake, and Grooms' daughter and granddaughters at the exhibition. Location footage of Grooms' neighborhood in New York City is also found, as well as motion camera footage of artwork and photographs. Transcripts for all original footage are present.

Original footage includes an interview with curator Mary "Polly" Nooter Roberts, as well as interviews with curators Lowery Sims and Lisa Farrington, art dealer Corinne Jennings, and artists Howardena Pindell and Emma Amos. Extensive location footage of the 1996 Museum of African Art exhibition Memory: Luba Art and the Making of History, curated by Roberts, is also found.
Production material includes amateur footage of Polly Roberts in Zaire, presumably provided to Freeman by Roberts, as well as a project proposal, research, and various scripts and notes. The finished documentary is found in both a long and a short version.
Interviews with Lowery Sims, Lisa Farrington, Corinne Jennings, and Howardena Pindell conducted on February 18, 1998 cover both Luba and African art subject matter, as well as statements on the life and work on Howardena Pindell, shot and used in the documentary Howardena Pindell: Atomizing Art found in series 13.

Much of the original footage shot for the documentaries in this series for children was originally shot for other documentaries by Freeman about the featured artists.
