Summary: Letters from Hall to various individuals describing how a portrait of George Clinton by John Trumbull came to him through his family; Hall's family tree; and a notarized affadavit identifying the painting.

Biographical/Historical Note

Art collector; Baltimore, Md. Descendant of original owner of a portrait of George Clinton painted by Trumbull. The portrait went to the Regents of the State University of New York. Clinton was the first governor of New York.
