Also included is a conversation between King and potters Warren MacKenzie and Randy Johnston, and MacKenzie's daughter Tamsyn, March 19, 2018.
Biographical/Historical Note
Leslie Ferrin (1958- ) is the director of Ferrin Contemporary in North Adams, Massachusetts and Ferrin Contemporary Project Art in Cummington, Massachusetts, specializing in contemporary ceramics circa 1950 to the present by artists whose primary medium is clay. Michael Simon was a functional ceramicist (1947-2021) in Athens, Georgia. He received his B.F.A. from the University of Minnesota and M.F.A. from the University of Georgia. His work can be found in the Los Angeles County Museum, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and is in The Rodger Corsaw Collection of Ceramic Art at Alfred University. Lyndel King is the retired long-term director and chief curator of the Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Warren MacKenzie (1924-2018) was a functional ceramicist and educator based in Stillwater, Minnesota.
