Summary: Printed material, photographs, and audio-visual material documenting the career of painter Jules Olitsky.
The majority of the collection consists of printed material that is a comprehensive collection of announcements, catalogs and newspaper clippings from Olitski's exhibitions at galleries and museums and covers the entirety of Olitski's career. Photographs, 1967-2006, include professional portraits of Olitski. Audio visual material includes audio cassettes, VHS, and U-Matic tapes of interviews with Olitski on the occasion of exhibitions of his work and recorded lectures given by Olitski at Brown University, the University of Miami, and the National Museum of American History, among others. The bulk of these recordings date from the 1990s.
