Summary: The Jonathan Oakleaf photograph album regarding Josh Simpson's Megaplanet was compiled by glass collector Jonathan Oakleaf and dates from 2005-2006. The photographs document glass artist Josh Simpson's work in his Shelburne, Massachusetts studio to create Megaplanet, a 100-pound paperweight, commissioned by the Corning Museum of Glass. The work was completed in 2006.

Biographical/Historical Note

Jonathan Oakleaf is an art collector in Collinsville, Connecticut who collects the work of glass artist Josh Simpson (1949- ). Simpson is known for his large solid, blown-glass spheres called "Megaplanets." The work for the Corning Museum of Glass was the 1,000th paperweight added to the Museum's collection.

The collection was donated in 2019 by Jonathan Oakleaf.
