Summary: The papers of Michigan studio glass collectors Jean and Hilbert Sosin measure 19.1 linear feet and date from 1972 to 2004. The collection comprises administrative records consisting of bibliographies, donation records, purchase invoices, photographs of the Sosin's and glass art, and Sosin collection content and location information; correspondence with artists, other collectors, museums and galleries, and letters of appreciation from individuals who toured the Sosin's collection; artist and collector files largely consisting of printed materials for artists such as Dale Chihuly and Marvin Lipofsky; gallery files also consisting mainly of printed materials, but also include some correspondence and other records regarding the Sosin's professional activities; professional files for conferences, events, exhibitions, lectures, tours, and trips; membership records for the Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass, founded by the Sosins, as well as Glass Art Society, the Metropolitan Contemporary Glass Group, Urban Glass, and other glass art organizations; and printed materials containing clippings about the Sosin's and their collection, clippings on glass artists and events, and newsletters published by glass organizations.
