Speaker reads a letter addressed to her that begins "Miss Schmitz" (Renate Hofmann's maiden name).
Renate gives what she calls a "dictation" in which she analyzes her personality and what she wants to change about herself, talks about Hans and people they know.
Copy of tape in Hofmann papers is incorrectly labeled "Interview with Maria Hofmann in German."
Attribution and date are based on mention of "Miss Schmitz" and fact that Renate met Hans Hofmann in 1964 and they married in the fall of 1965.
