Inscription (typescript) on attachment on verso: Cady Jan 23, 1917; The artist: This is the last portrait group I'll ever undertake. Just as I begin the chameleon changes color, spots appear on the bull-frog, the tadpole sprouts a foot and the caterpillar throws out a set of wings.
