Description: Though cover of book and printed dates indicate 1928, entries in some cases are hand-dated and range from 1926 to 1929.
Bothwell documents her work on various paintings and prints, activities with friends, art classes. She gives reflections on art and spirituality. The bulk of the diary is dedicated to her experiences in American Samoa in 1928-29.
A few entries are written in Spanish.
Front of diary contains vocabulary and phrases in Samoan, and Samoan recipes.
Back of diary contains some financial records, but also lists of artworks by Bothwell.
