Title: Design for Jack Heinz's office suite
Date: 1999
Physical Details: 1 mock-up : various media ; 26 x 20 cm.
Description: "Paste-up" design for the office of Jack Heinz, CEO of the H. J. Heinz Company, created by director of Knoll Associates, Florence Knoll Bassett.
Description (handwritten) from note accompanying paste-up, written by Bassett: This paste up of Jack Heinz's suite was a typical presentation made for plans or on models. It was extraordinary how small swatches of fabrics & wood could convey a feeling of the space. The general scale used was 1/4" but on special plans we worked in larger scale. I always felt the need to employ this system that eventually was used by design offices as a standard. I actually started to do this at the architectural asso center in London & developed it further when the planning unit was formed at Knoll.
