Description: The Society of American Fakirs was a group formed out of the Art Students League of young artists dedicated to parodying the works of their teachers and other established artists.
This publication accompanied the 17th annual exhibit of comedic fakes based on works exhibited in the annual Society of American Artists/National Academy of Design exhibition. It contains satirical articles, poems and illustrations on various subjects pertinent to the art world of the time.
