Gertrude Brinckle (1885-1973) was a secretary to illustrator Howard Pyle and served as a model for many of his drawings. She was also an executive secretary to the Historical Society of Delaware.
This interview is part of the Archives' Oral History Program, started in 1958 to document the history of the visual arts in the United States, primarily through interviews with artists, historians, dealers, critics and others.
