Fred Tomaselli (1956- ) is an artist known for his elaborate collage paintings that incorporate found and natural objects with layers of resin to explore the range of human consciousness, especially as transformed by psychoactive experiences. He spent his early life before moving to Brooklyn in the 1980s, where he still lives.
Ben Gillespie (1988- ) is the oral historian at the Archives of American Art.
This interview is part of the Archives of American Art Oral History Program, started in 1958 to document the history of the visual arts in the United States, primarily through interviews with artists, historians, dealers, critics and administrators.
