Biographical/Historical Note
Felix Rodríguez Báez (1929-2013) was a Puerto Rican artist and arts educator. His artistic works include paintings, graphic designs, cartoons, and theatrical set designs. He was a founder of the Puerto Rican Arts Center and a director of both the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico and the Division of Fine Arts of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture. He served in the Puerto Rico National Guard.
Luis R. Cancel (1952- ) is a Puerto Rican arts administrator and artist from New York City, N.Y. Cancel is the President of Esperanto Internet Services, LLC. He is the former director of the Bronx Museum of the Arts and a scholar on 20th century Latin American and Puerto Rican art.
