Biographical/Historical Note
Delta Bravo de Picó (1912-2010) was a Puerto Rican painter and ceramist. She was a founding member of La Liga de Arte, where she served as director for 35 years. She also co-founded the Asociación de Mujeres Artistas de Puerto Rico and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Puerto Rico. She was the mother of painter Frances Picó.
Luis R. Cancel (1952- ) is a Puerto Rican arts administrator and artist from New York City, N.Y. Cancel is the President of Esperanto Internet Services, LLC. He is the former director of the Bronx Museum of the Arts and a scholar on 20th century Latin American and Puerto Rican art.

This interview is part of the Archives of American Art Oral History Program, started in 1958 to document the history of the visual arts in the United States, primarily through interviews with artists, historians, dealers, critics and administrators.
