Biographical/Historical Note
Benjamin Harjo, Jr. (absentee Shawnee-Seminole Nation; 1945- ) is a painter and printmaker based in Oklahoma City. He is known for his vivid colors and evocations of Seminole patchwork and other traditional graphic lexicons in his syncretic, modern style. Laura Marshall Clark (Muscogee Creek; 1953- ) is an Indigenous scholar, curator, and educator who has worked across the United States; she has been based in Oklahoma City and Houston, Texas.
