Biographical/Historical Note
Akinsanya David Kambon (1946- ) is a ceramicist known for his glazing innovations and integrations of traditional African aesthetics as well as his activism. Kambon was formerly a US Marine and a Black Panther, and he was also an art educator at Cal State Long Beach, California for over 20 years.

This interview is part of the Archives of American Art Oral History Program, started in 1958 to document the history of the visual arts in the United States, primarily through interviews with artists, historians, dealers, critics and administrators.
