Henry Francis du Pont (1880-1969) established the Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library, Winterthur, Del., in 1951. He collected early-American furniture, decorative arts, rare books, and manuscripts. Du Pont was a horticulturist and cattle breeder, as well as the heir to the Du Pont family.
