Biographical/Historical Note
Haywood Bill Rivers (1922-2001) was an African American painter in New York, New York. He studied at the Art Students League in New York and then at the École du Musée du Louvre in Paris. In Paris, Rivers was a founding member of Galerie Huit, a cooperative gallery that served as an exhibition space for Americans in Paris.
