Scope and Contents
The Great Spruce Head Island Art Week records measure 4.0 linear feet and date from its founding in 1993 to 2023. The collection primarily consists of correspondence with applicants for admission and scholarships to attend the Art Week, photographs participant lists, and books created by or featuring participants.
Correspondence is primarily greeting cards and personal correspondence from artist participants to Anina Porter Fuller. There are letters of application and letters for scholarships. Also included are participant lists, some financial records, envelopes with donation information written on them, and binders of correspondence and resumes. There are also photographs, sketches, and printed material included with some of the correspondence.
Printed material is primarily books and booklets either created by or featuring artists who participated in Art Week workshops. Some of the smaller booklets are artist-made containing sketches. Also included is one folder of clippings.
Photographic material includes a number of albums from various Art Week workshops, miscellaneous photographs of the workshops and of art work by some of the participants, and CDs of images by some of the participants.
