Summary: The papers of portrait artist Gladys Rockmore Davis consist of three letters and date from 1962 to 1964. Letters to Davis are from Agnes George de Mille and Joseph Paolillo. Another letter is signed with only the first name of Walter.

Gladys Rockmore Davis (1901-1967) was a portrait painter and author from New York City, New York. She worked in both commercial and fine art and painted portraits of women and children.

The collection was donated in 1966 by Gladys Rockmore Davis.

The Archives of American Art also holds microfilm of material lent for microfilming on D176 and D288 including: Photographs, writings, and vita information; correspondence; biographical information; clippings; personal documents; exhibition notices; photographs; sketchbook (1944); and some business and miscellaneous items. The writings contain interesting accounts of Davis's travels in Europe and the Far East. Loaned materials were returned to the Davis after microfilming and are not described in the collection container inventory.
