This subseries consists of writings by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney apart from her more creative writing, including autobiographical and early writings, an essay on the problems of reconstruction in France after the First World War, limericks and poems, notebooks on art and history, her published writings on art (including an article entitled "The 'Useless' Memorial" and a series of articles entitled "The End of America's Apprenticeship in Art" which appeared in Arts and Decoration in 1920), writings on art, and other miscellaneous writings.
Other writings are partially scanned; duplicates and some draft versions have not been scanned.
