11.1: Sketches by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, 1891-1930s
This subseries consists of sketchbooks and loose sketches by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, including early sketches done as a young girl, figure studies and anatomical drawings, sketches for and renderings of various sculptures, including the Titanic Memorial, Spirit of Flight, and St. Nazaire Memorial, and sketches of red cross nurses and soldiers grouped together under the head "My Experiences as an Emergency Canteen Worker."
