Summary: The papers of painter Frederic Edwin Church (1876-1975), date from 1921 to 2017. Included is correspondence, artwork and biographical information. Much of the correspondence relates to Church's loans and sales of his Japanese art collection, as well as loans and sales of his own artwork. Additional correspondence regards family genealogical details. This is especially helpful considering the shared name with Hudson River School artist Frederic Edwin Church (1826-1900). Artwork consists of one study on panel for Church's painting 'Pelote Bosque'. Biographical material includes documents related to Church's membership in the Zoological Society, Union Club, and a large certificate related to his service in World War II. Also included is posthumous records generated by managers of his estate.
