Research and reference files date from circa 1920 to 1990 and include subject based source materials, including newspaper clippings, magazine articles, notes, press releases, and letters. Subjects include art and religion, politics, museums, such at the MET and the Whitney, and individual artists, including Salvador Dali, Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse, and Vincent Van Gogh.

Because the collection was minimally processed, contents of the folders were not checked against the original folder titles for accuracy, and all folders have the same date range.
