Elisabeth Zogbaum was the president of the Franz Kline Foundation. The foundation was dedicated to preserving Franz Kline's legacy and increasing public awareness of his work. The foundation often collaborated with museums and galleries on Franz Kline exhibitions and also compiled research and material for creating a catalogue raisonne. This series includes correspondence, administrative records, material related to the catalogue raisonne, lists and inventories, and sound recordings related to the management of Kline's artwork.

4.3:Catalogue Raisonne, circa 1964-1997, bulk circa 1973-circa 1990

This subseries consists of a range of research, reports, and survey material compiled by the Franz Kline Foundation in order to create a catalogue raisonne, which was not completed. The bulk of the "artwork sold at auction houses" folders consists of photocopies of images of Franz Kline artwork sold at auctions. The price information and auction dates are sometimes but not always included. The Franz Kline Foundation conducted a survey of Franz Kline artwork in private collections, museums, galleries, and universities. The survey collection forms are the responses to the survey which provide detailed information such as the title, date, dimensions, medium, and provenance about each artwork owned by a collector or institution.

This subseries consists of lists and inventories of Franz Kline artwork compiled by the Franz Kline Foundation. There are several different categories of lists: collectors and institutions that own artwork, artwork by type (paintings, drawings, etc.), damaged or stolen artwork, etc. A few of the inventories are on index cards as well as photocopies of index cards. Quotation marks around a folder title indicate the original title of the list, as it is written on the document, was retained.

Sound recordings are of Elizabeth Zogbaum alone or in conversation with foundation members and estate attorneys regarding estate inventories and arrangements for exhibition, loan, representation of artworks in the Kline estate. Also found is a radio broadcast from 1985 regarding a Kline exhibition at the Cincinnati art museum.
