The bulk of this series consists of 26 video recordings of interviews created for Dickinson's cable access television show, Art of the Matter, that aired in the San Francisco Bay Area. The program features guests speaking on topics such as arts legislation, financial and legal issues facing professional artists, public funding, and other topics. The format of the show is based on Dickinson's Artist's Business and Gallery and Museum Management courses taught at California College of Arts and Crafts. Other interviews include 7 sound recordings with Alfred Frankenstein, Charles Hilger, George Neubert, H.J. Janson on the inclusion of women artists in his widely used textbook History of Art, and other art professionals.

The series contains records documenting Dickinson's professional activities outside of teaching at the California College of Arts and Crafts. These activities include providing material for an article on Dickinson by Helga Epstein for American Artist magazine; working as a consultant at the Center for the Study of Southern Culture; and organizing the Soap Box Derby and Draw Til You Drop events. The series also documents grant requests, juries, speaking at the Second International Conference of Visual Arts, and teaching at the YWCA, the University of California Berkeley, and privately. Also found in the series are loose notes and four small notebooks with notes on various professional activities and projects.

Files in this series contain records for Dickinson's major projects on artist's models, Revival!, and Statistics: Gender Discrimination in the Art Field. Material on models consists of 35 video recordings, many labeled "The Models," that include original video tape, production copies, individual model shoots, and several editions of the documentary "Artists Models of San Francisco" created by Dickinson. The material also includes photographs, correspondence, information concerning hours and pay rates for models, news clippings, and material relating to the 80th birthday of model Harold McClellan.
Records concerning Revival! include book proofs and mock-ups for the book Revival! by Dickinson and Barbara Benziger, exhibition and catalog material, photographs, typescripts, and notes.
Files relating to Statistics: Gender Discrimination in the Art Field contain correspondence, graphics, raw data, and other research materials.
Other projects include book illustration projects, a lithograph portfolio project, and writings by Dickinson for New York Magazine and Women Artists News.
